Get ready for our next meeting this coming Friday, October 26th. This week's meeting we will have a Purity Panel joining us for some great discussion and questions about how we can talk to our kids about puberty, sex, and purity. I'm just on the cusp of starting these conversations with my daughter, so I'm definitely looking forward to the panel and also hearing from other moms at our table who have already gone through this, are in the midst of it, or are preparing themselves for it. It should be a very informative discussion. We hope to see you there.
Our Wife Lab series will continue at our next meeting on November 16th, so you still have plenty of time to get through the homework! :-)
Food Rotation
The ladies at Table 5 “Glow” & Table 6 “Shine” will be blessing us with food this week. Thank you to these ladies and the mentor moms for all the yummy food in advance!

New Check-In System for Childcare
I hope you all got Jacquie's email a few weeks ago, but we have a new check in system for children at Venture and for MOMSnext. If you have kids in the childcare during our MOMSnext meeting or put kiddos in Sunday school at Venture, please text the word ‘add’ to 408-645-7354.
If you do this you will not have to take a pager. Instead, you will be able to get texts from them if you need to go check on your child (this is during our meetings and on the weekends).
Family Photo Opportunity
This Sunday, October 28th is the last opportunity to snag a spot for a mini photo shoot with Bradley Adams. There are still a few spots left if you are looking to get updated family photos or your next Christmas card. Bradley will be donating $25 of the proceeds back to MOMSnext, which help pay for things like guest speakers, materials, gifts, scholarships, and so much more. For $150, you will get a 20 minute photography session, digital downloads of all your photos, and 2 fully-edited digital images of your choosing. Women's Missions Brunch
Ladies don't miss a time of great food, conversation and hearing from dynamic speakers! Meet and hear from some of Venture's missionaries about what God is doing locally and throughout the world. They'll share how God has directed their lives and the lives of those they minister to.
When: Saturday, Nov 3
Time: 10am -12:30pm.
Cost: Tickets are $10 per person and will go on sale Oct 19.

Ornaments for Orphans
You may have seen the display of Christmas ornaments at the last meeting. In case you missed the announcement, these ornaments are to support the organization, Ornaments for Orphans.
Ornaments 4 Orphans is dedicated to providing critical support for orphans and vulnerable children in Africa. The ornaments are handcrafted by local artisans in East Africa and all proceeds help support families with food, housing, clothing and the medications they need.
Most of the ornaments are about $10-$15 each. We will be setting up a station to sell these ornaments at our next few meetings or until they sell out. Most of the ornaments are in the $10-$15 price range per ornament. A great way to decorate your tree or a Christmas package. You can pay in the form of cash or check, or Paypal. Ask us about it at our next meeting.

October Mom's Night Out
Tonight is our next Mom's Night Out from 7pm to 9pm. Join us as we will be making small bottles of Homemade Vanilla extract. Even if you didn't sign up to make bottles of vanilla, please still join us for a fun night and great company!

Christian groups for girls and boys K-12+
Angela, our Registration Leader for MOMSnext, posted about Trail Life USA and American Heritage Girls, and I thought I'd repost for her. I'm always looking for Christian groups outside of Sunday school for my kids to attend, and thought this would be a great opportunity to repost about these groups. These organizations are Christian-based and are meant for school-aged kids grades K-12+. The local chapter for Trail Life USA for boys and American Heritage Girls for girls both meet at The Home Church (1711 Winchester Blvd., Campbell) on Wednesdays from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. My daughter has soccer on Wednesday nights, but I'm going to be looking into sending both my kids when the season is over. Our local chapter fee will remain the same for next year at $30/year (in addition to the $31.95 MOPS International fee that you will pay online when you register) to cover all the materials needed for our meetings. You can pay the local chapter fees at our first meeting in the fall of 2018. Childcare is also available for a fee, but space is limited. Please follow this link to register for childcare. I opened a devotional book this week to this Bible verse. I thought it was so fitting in light of the homework we have from the last Wife Lab session. God gave us a miraculous gift in being moms, but there is so much more joy He has in store for us in His bigger plan.
I wrote last week about listening to that voice inside of you when you hear it call to you about someone. To listen. That same voice is telling us who we are and what God is calling us to do. His plan for us is so big, He doesn't want to overwhelm us and reveals it to us a little bit at a time. Ask Him to reveal His plan to you. Have you thought a lot about writing children's books? Or maybe it's a cause that close to your heart? Maybe it is even to adopt a child to have an even bigger mom role than you have already? We all have talents and God calls us at different times to use them.
What does the voice inside of you say about you?
While being a mom is the biggest role we will ever have, with God's strength, we can accomplish that and so much more. No job or struggle is too great with God on our side. Find out who you are and what plans God has in store for you.

I opened a devotional book this week to this Bible verse. I thought it was so fitting in light of the homework we have from the last Wife Lab session. God gave us a miraculous gift in being moms, but there is so much more joy He has in store for us in His bigger plan.
I wrote last week about listening to that voice inside of you when you hear it call to you about someone. To listen. That same voice is telling us who we are and what God is calling us to do.
